My Story

It all started when…

I found out I was pregnant on the day the first UK lockdown was announced.

Once me and my partner had adjusted to pandemic life we decided to slow down, spend time together cooking healthy food and doing yoga, going for walks and growing our baby.

We kept the news between us for much longer than we would have if we’d been out in the world seeing friends and family and this felt really special.

My parents live in Wales so I only saw them once during my pregnancy when the lift in restrictions over the first summer allowed us and didn’t see them again until our son Phoenix was 4 months old.

This was difficult for all of us and the best way I found to stay connected and for them to feel included in our baby’s development was by documenting our daily life and sending them photos.

They have been so appreciative and feel as if they really got to know their grandson even though they weren’t able to meet him in person

These photographs have become a beautiful and important reminder of our baby’s first months and I continue to document him as he grows.

Feeling isolated from family is something I know everyone will have felt over the past couple of years and I realised I wanted to be able to provide other families with their own visual record of their children’s daily life for them to remember and share.
