FAQ

Q. How long have you been a professional photographer?

A. I’ve been a professional Portrait and Documentary photographer for seven years.

Q. Do you have a DRB check?

A. Yes I have an up to date enhanced DRB check.

Q. Do you have insurance?

A. Yes I am fully insured with public liability insurance.

Q. What areas do you cover?

A. I work all across Brighton and Sussex, and often travel further afield for photoshoots, for photoshoots outside a 20 mile radius of Brighton, including Europe and North America additional travel fees apply. If you’re not sure whether I’ll come to you, please just drop me a line.

Q. What should we wear?

A.  Wear what you feel comfortable in. Simple, plain-coloured clothes tend to work best, and layering looks great! It’s best to avoid bold patterns, stripes, checks and logos.

Q. Should we bring anything to the session?

A. If we’re shooting out and about, just bring the things you’d normally have with you for a day at the park or beach. Props are great so bring your children’s favourite toys.

Q. What happens if it rains?

A. I’m not put off by rain, I’m totally confident that we can make beautiful photographs whatever the weather.

Many of my best pictures were taken either playing indoors or outdoors on damp days in soft light cast by cloud-cover and rain. Light cast by a dull day is often more flattering than the dazzling brightness of a sunny one.

If it is really pouring with rain on the day of your shoot, then don’t worry – we can always reschedule.

Q. Can parents/family members/pets be in the photos?

A. Of course, the most important thing is capturing family life in the most real way. Anyone, fluffy or not who is part of your family can be involved, but the focus will generally be on the children.

Q. Will the photos be in colour or black and white?

A. All of my photographs are taken in black and white to create beautiful, timeless images.

Q. Can I have the RAW files?

A. I don’t share the RAW files but I will provide a selection of the best high resolution images from the shoot. Editing is an important part of my process to create a very specific look and feel.

Q. Who has copyright to the images?

A. I retain the copyright to all my images. You’ll be granted a license to reproduce the images for your personal use, or to give to family and friends. You’re not permitted to enter the pictures into any competitions or to sell them onto third parties such as stock libraries.
